Hammer FTW!
Aug. 25th, 2007 10:11 pmAahh, there's programme on the telly just now all about the history of the British horror film industry. Now, I love British horror, adore it, madly. Particularly sixties Hammer stuff, and I'll watch anything with Peter Cushing because, dudes, PETER CUSHING. And, oh, there's Cushing '87 interview bits and a little clip of him chatting on-set from Curse of Frankenstein and now it's moved onto Amicus and Dr Terror's House of Horrors and Asylum (damn, I love Asylum) and just, oh, oh! And Witchfinder General is on afterwards. And I've never seen it and lo, Vincent Price! Not being Phibes, heh.
Oh, Mark Gatiss has turned up to talk about Twins of Evil, he!
Also I LOVE New Old Skool fandom, because it is fangirls and it is just GLOWING at the good things and the absurd things and the silly things and...and...oh, it's just lovely, it really is, and, brilliantly, the old chestnut of Who Is Your Favourite Doctor? is currently in a five way race at
classicwho between Troughton, Pertwee, Baker T, Davison and McCoy. McCoy, dudes! Five way race! It's smashing.
I really want to make Cushing icons now. Must find DVDs, yes.
ETA:
chicagotardis, which has just been set-up, hurrah!
