Gone Phishing

Yarg...I haven't used Ebay for a while. (Well over a year, in fact. And people have become a lot more whiney about feedback, it seems. The person who sent me the Doctor who stickers and badges along with my actual thingummie didn't, so I can happily leave them smashing feedback. But the spamming of "leave me feedback now!" messages is not very encouraging, no.)

Anyway, because I haven't used Ebay for so long, I completely forgot about Ebay Phishing Emails, and I just gave away my password to one and I AM A FOOL, essentially, yes. Though, luckily, I worked this out after I actually, y'know, glanced at the address bar thing and ran to Ebay change password and hopefully All Is Well, yes.

Those Give Me Your Bank Details ones have got a lot better too. Now I'm just getting Royal Bank of Scotland ones, yes. And that is actually me bank too. If only they hadn't sent me all those ones from Barclays I could surely have told them everything they want to know.

I bought chocolate milk from the supermarket. That is my Achievement of the Day. Methinks it is Quite A Good One, yes.

And Supernatural is back tonight, I think, yes? I remember to, ah, get hold of that tomorrow. I am hoping for many shots of Dean and his fabulous eyebrow-ish action.

I, too, got one of those bank data phishing mails, too. Absent-minded as I am, I almost clicked on the link provided when I noticed that that of my banks which I don't use for online transactions had apparently contacted me because of online banking. And then I understood. Argh.

They've got really good at this phishing lark, haven't they? Well, good in an evil kind of way. I'm glad you spotted what you'd done quickly! If you were able to change your password, and it's now something very different, it should be fine - just check that you're not currently bidding on anything you don't mean to be. :-)

Ebay is evil, but it's a very useful evil.

And yep, Supernatural tonight. Though I'll be at my mom's so I have to tape it. Oh the sacrifices we make for family!

I never give feedback to a seller until they give me feedback. And I'll often e-mail them to thank them for the successful auction and that I'll give 'em positive feedback if they do likewise. I feel, as the buyer, I took the initial risk in sending them the money, so I should be given feedback first. Plus most of the sellers have 500+ positives and I've got much fewer. (Mostly cuz I used to give feedback and think I'd get it in return only to discover far too many sellers just liked to receive feedback and never give it.)

What I've never done is bug someone to "give me feedback NOW" as you've been bugged. Blech!

Still waiting on my current seller for feedback. If it never comes, no matter. They ain't getting mine, either. :-)

I get bored with this feedback thing. I tend to do it on Ebay, but even bloody Amazon ask for it now, and I can't be arsed. I bid, I win, I pay, you give me shiny things. Full stop. That should be it, surely.

Apparently a useful clue with Phishing emails is that legit stuff will say "Dear xxxxxx" (where "xxxxxx" is your name), whereas fake stuff will just say "Dear customer".
