Me vs. Teh Cold Virus

Oh, I had a cold, I still have a cold, but I think I have maybe won An Awesome Victory against it. Uh, pretty much by refusing to stop sleeping until it went away. Had the most awful trip to the supermarket yesterday collecting Cold Fighting Stuff whilst feeling utterly dreadful from the bloody thing and promptly took some medicine that I really shouldn't have been mixing with my prescription but I'm not dead yet so I assume it's okay.

Anyway, after using the traditional Scottish remedy of Chucking Whisky And Lemon Drinks at it, I went asleeping and now am awake and I still have a bit of a sniffle but mostly All The Horrible Symptoms Are Gone. Thus I win. Well done me.

Also I had pastries for breakfast. I cannot quite express my love of delicious pastries, but it is great indeed. And much as I am generally awful at Foreign Foods, I do love the fact that France is utterly fabulous about pastries and I get to have them Every Morning Always whilst there. So having them here is a little bit like being on holiday. Which is nice.

Oh, and mostly I was doing Very Well at controlling my squee, but then some Cruel Person linked to these Radio Times scans. OH GOD. I did read the article, and the spoilers are minor indeed, so much so that I don't actually feel like I've been spoilered. (The only thing that might actually qualify as one can be guessed from the preview quite easily and is a minor point anyway.) And there's a lovely story about Tennant and Simm at the end. Everything else that RTD says is, er, a bit bizarre due to its straw-man nature. But whatevs. He wrote Utopia thus I can forgive virtually anything right now.

(And, really, whether or not you're going to go for that whole Objectively Great Television thing, I think, personally, just for me, the awesomeness of Utopia is confirmed by the fact my sister phoned me and told me it's the best thing she's seen in the new series and she thought it was brilliant. Thus confirming she didn't watch Blink. Knowing her general opinions on Doctor Who that's pretty damn impressive, yes.)

That picture is beautiful, and I can't wait for the promised 'virtuoso scenes with Tennant and Simm'. I don't know if I can stand that much excitement.

'Blink' pretty much had me and me flatmate off the sofa in fits cos I'd stopped breathing in that "shit! forgot to breathe out!" kinda way.
I love Russell for he gave us Utopia, LOL

I refuse to look at any spoilers, even HINTS, before June 30th. Which I've decided is Intergalactic Jelly Baby Day. Inappropriate or no, but I'm still in int dark as to whether Ten survives this season-ender (AND I DON'T WANT TO KNOW UNTIL 30TH JUNE!)
Anyway, I have to teach 9 - 6.30 that day, and we're going to be scoffing jelly babies, head-first, till hometime. Just cos I said so.

And so to colds. Summat I hope might cheer you up. Or at least give you a second's laff. No? Smile? Little smile? That was a smile.... Oh come on, all he did was change!

The response form the non-fans I know has been exceedingly positive too. And has created a waiting list to borrow LoM because they've fallen in love with John Simm (in the space of mere minutes - it's impressive)

I am convinced there is no illness that whisky and lemon-flavoured things can't cure. Ys.

Also, pastries. Pastries are good. Hurrah.

I'm pretty sure RTD did anyways, given the updated BBC website.

I think you have to be in the right mood for it (plus I think my love is extremely biased because I already love Philip Glenister and John Simm and in my eyes can do no wrong)
