Chicago TARDIS

So, on a scale on one to ten, how mad is it to sort of plan a bit to go to Chicago TARDIS this year? I've always wanted to go to one of the big American Who cons since I first discovered them When I Was But A Small Child. And now I'm all old enough, and don't have uni, and, since I'm under 26 I can get a Youth traveller card and some pretty decent flight prices. And the con itself (thank you shiny exchange rate!) isn't hugely expensive. And, y'know, I'd probably know somebody going, yes?

...dude. If you go, I'm going to have to actually go (being only two hours away is a plus). If only so I can meet you.

I live 5 hours away from Chicago, and migrate up there regularly because my video game music cover band performs in the Midwest United States all the damn time. If a potential job doesn't mess me up for going, I'd actually really like to try to go to it this year.

It's time I go to a convention that isn't a Japanese anime convention. For serious.

ZOMG PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE COME.

I might put you to work, mind. But you can stay with me before and afters! We can party! And I shall kidnap you for panels!

Go! You'd enjoy it, you know you would.

I'd go myself, if I could afford to. I'm having to cut back on UK conventions this year as it is (although I'm hoping Sarah & I can make it to Dimensions, if nothing else).

David.

I had a complete blast last year, and am still trying to figure out ways I can afford to go back this year.

GO!

And take as little luggage as possible in case a local shows you Chicago's secondhand bookstores. :-)

I'm always there. Only missed one so far for my wedding reception.

Ah, come! You won't regret it. And I'll try not to let Tara overwork you much.... ;)

Because it's local for me, I go to the dealer's room every year, but am actually debating about attending for real this year.

GAH. I've been hoping more people on my friends list would be up for Dragon*Con this year, but given I've been assembling a Romana outfit anyway, and have a good online friend who now lives in Chicago and is starting to get into Who herself... Hmm. When is this? Link to a website?

i be currently living in milwaukee, which is about 1.5 -- 2.0 hours from a given point in chicago (by car), depending on variables. so yeah I MUST GO.

moved from chicago last year so i know many people with extra couches (which i will also most likely avail) if you're ever in need.

Oh, I say, but you must go, you know, if only because I live in Chicago - or near enough - and should like to take tea with you one of these days, and that if only to discuss dead Romans and purely for the pleasure of the company of somebody whom I openly regard as terribly pleasant. I could even show you to Myopic Books, if you liked. It's marvellous, you see. Do come, please.
