So not even a teeniest fraction as scary as the trailer would suggest, instead it was enormously good fun, hurrah! Quite, quite loved it, yes.

  • The Doctor! Omg, it was tots the Ten that I like rather a bit and Tennant was great and the script was fun and Ten was heroic and compassionate and only for a second mopey but I will totally not be judgey at that cause it was fallout from Donna, so fair enough.

  • Michelle Ryan was awesome. I WISH SHE WAS THE NEW COMPANION. Christina de Souza was intelligent and practical and sarky and A WEE BIT AMAZING AND I LOVED HER. I hope the Internet gives me fic, yes.

  • Doctor/Christina was rocking, yes. They had so many little moments and lo I did squee.

  • Old skool shoutouts! They made me so happy there was a Giant Robot mention and also rhondium particles and a rhondium sensor for detecting time distortions a la The Time Warrior which was QUITE YAYSOME.

  • I also did squee at UNIT. Didn't know they were in it. And much love for the latest incarnation of Team!Liz&Brig in the form of Malcolm and Captain Magambo.

  • I totally judge those museum dudes for sticking their shiny pot exactly below a WINDOW though.

  • Did I menton I loved Christina? I LOVED HER. She totally did a Brig with her Bijillion Points plan thing. Also the Doctor's various expressions of "Oh, I so fancy you," were lolsome. Ten has Quite A Lot of those faces, yah.

  • AND SHE DID A FRENCH REPLY TO HIS ALLONSY THING AND THAT MADE ME HAPPY. I've been wanting someone to do that forever AND SHE DID.

  • "You look human." "You look Time Lord." Eee! It's DT's look that does it. ::covets fic::

  • I do love Magambo but less of the Doctor!worship New Who UNIT. LESS OF THAT. Though given that the Captain was willing to close down the wormhole because her first priority was the safety of Earth, it was at least moderated. And I tots forgave Malcolm a bit when he decided to ask the Doctor to marry him. WHY DID HE NOT SNOG THE DOCTOR? He obv wanted to. This so-called Gay Agenda is pretty bloody lacking in the gay.

  • On the good side though, we had four black guest stars - two men, two women - and the episode death count? One white guy and two humanoid flies. It is a bit like they are learning, so it is. AT LAST.

  • "Don't be ridiculous, that's Quatermass." And the best bit is Quatermass is tots canonical in the Whoniverse, thank you Rememberance.

  • I was so rolling my eyes at the Doctor's hypocrisy re thievery and then he did exactly what I wanted him to do with the mention of his own 'borrowing' of the TARDIS. Actually, he didn't even use a euphemism...is that the first time he's actually outright admitted to nicking it?

  • It wasn't the kiss that was awesome - it was the Doctor's look afterwards. Totally smitten! And their final goodbye...he gave her a flying bus! Best pressie eva, omg.

  • The Subtle-Like-An-Anvil foreshadowing - "it is returning." What's it? I assume the "he" who knocks four times is the Master though.

  • Lindsay Duncan! And The Waters of Mars is a rocking title. Muchly looking forward to.

But, yes, that was excellent stuff. Hurrah!
