1. Doctor Who toymakers, WHAT IS THIS?! I don't know what to think about it. On one hand, there is goo and goo is awesome, on the other there's a wee "collect all the parts!" sign where "all the parts" is the decapitated head and disembodied limbs of the Doctor.

2. [livejournal.com profile] jigglykat made awesome fanart of Madame Vastra and Jenny. I am going to PESSIMISTICALLY ASSUME they do not yet have their spin-off series. Forshame.

3. People are being Kind Of Scary about the Doctor Who scheduling change or whatever it is, which actually seems to know, cause there appears to be Very Little info. (But that doesn't mean you don't know exactly what those BBC execs are thinking! Of course you do, random Internet person, of course you do.) I saw a tweet from Lizo offa Newsround and then I went to look for more info and ended up in BAD PLACES where I wanted to either hide under my desk or hit my head on it. Here is a clue: the BBC does not work like an American network. Also I sometimes watch Who on iPlayer instead of the telly; this apparently means I'm not a real viewer or something.

5. When the Doctor Who on the telly stopped I really, really wanted more shiny new Who which meant Big Finish. So I listened to some. Which was fine. Except now Erimem has gone and I HATE BIG FINISH. They took the Best of Their Companions from me and I am sad. Though it was quite nice that though I stopped listening cause the stories were getting worryingly consistent in their mehness, this last run, from Son of the Dragon through to the HORRID DEPARTURE OF BELOVED ERIMEM were almost all pretty good. Even the one with bloody Evelyn in it. Bit amused when I thought "gosh, she's really not been very annoying this ep" and it turned out she'd been replaced by an evil shapechanger, heh. Ahem.

Anyway, once I get over my bitterness there, if anyone has any post-The Bride of Peladon recs, that'd be dead nifty.

6. Why is all the telly gone? Doctor Who, The Borgias, and Camelot are finished for the year (omg, Camelot - HOW AWESOME WERE YOU?), Camelot possibly forever, or I've heard no news of a renewal anyway, boooo. And Game of Thrones only has one ep left. Woes.

...how much can you even do with that toy? o0

The New Who malaise has got me absolutely inhaling audios. And damnit I'm out of unheard ones of interest, I'm going to have to start relistening. Also finishing up the Old Who I haven't seen yet. (TWO TWO STORIES LEFT ZOMG. I'm enjoying The Abominable Snowmen quite a bit. Even with the super-white Tibetan abbot.)

Now there's a good use for my celery-less Davison figure. Rip him apart and have him be an half-formed ganger. The best part is, once he is reassembled, the other figures can tell which is the fake because he does not have the Celery. Oh, if only I had the Peri figure to act out this scene with...

Come to think of it, if the goo were a little greenish, I could also reenact Caves of Androzani, sort of...

Hold on. we Brits haven't yet had 'The Borgias'. 'Game of Thrones' is only on cable/satellite, and 'Bonkalot Camelot' has only just started.

On the other hand we do have the BBC's British Drama' season - and new Torchwood upcoming.

I saw the news of Lizo's tweet and I surprisingly, even to myself, didn't have a problem with it. In fact, in my head a split season makes it more likely something super shiny and wonderful will happen in 2013 for the anniversary.

The lack of Good Telly has finally got me marathoning watching Fringe. I have the biggest girlie crush on Olivia Dunham, I can't even tell you.

NGL, as disturbing as that toy is, I kind of want it. I HAVE NO NEED FOR THE TORSO, BRING ME THE DISEMBODIED LIMBS AND HEAD OF ELEVEN IN GOO. I don't even understand WHY they are in parts.

OMG, everyone needs to chill the fuck out about this 2012 nonsense. Do they not remember only a couple of years ago when there was a year of Specials? We survived that, we can survive this.

I'm out of TV to watch too. I was just lamenting this last night. I tried a couple of shows to hold me over in the meantime, but NOTHING IS SATISFYING.

(Thanks for the plug!)

DISARTICULATED MATT SMITH. I'm sorry, that's just funny. It reminds me of a couple years ago when everyone was all ONOES BABY DOCTOR THAT IS NOT TENNANT and (metaphorically) tearing him apart... *weird brain is weeeeiiiird* ;-)

That new DW toy BOGGLES MY MIND. Who in their right mind thought it would be a good idea to have children (amongst others) collect dismembered bits of the hero of the show? DISMEMBERMENT IS FUN KIDS!

I NEED a spinoff show involving interspecies victorian lesbians. Considering the chaos at the BBC right now... I won't count on it *weeps*

Ah, I will be conspicuous and self-pimp a post "Bride of Peladon" story: Walks Through Walls. It's Erimem and Six, written for the 2009 Sixathon, so it has mild allusions to some of the Sixth Doctor audios (The Holy Terror, The Wormery, some Six and Charley stuff). It's about Six getting Erimem a new cat, but really it's about Erimem and the Doctor, and why she left and why he doesn't (usually) look back.

True Blood kicks off the Sunday after GoT's finale, and I have a vague thought that there's one or two other shows that are on cable and about to start a new season. Hmm, checking the schedule, there's Futurama, and Elijah Wood starring opposite a guy in a dog suit (which turns out to be a remake of an Australian series, hmm). Well, between The Daily Show and The Colbert Report continuing to give me four hours of TV to watch most weeks, and my Netflix queue that I haven't had much time to watch in months, and the amount we record off the various educational channels, I'm not expecting to be running out of stuff to watch anytime soon.

Er, I wrote Peri/Erimem post-Bride of Peladon. Last year for the femslash ficathon. Because it was BEGGING FOR IT, essentially. (OMG Erimem come baaaaaaack.)

Erimem is awesomesauce. I too am sad she left.

(I will admit, though, that I haven't listened to much Big Finish this last year, most because playing tabletop gaming has eaten my life since September. However, some of the stuff from last year was actually pretty darn good. I would recommend the Six'n'Jamie trilogy to anybody.)

Yes someone else watches The Borgias. It teases me with its shortness. (As does DW—sigh.)

But we have True Blood starting up again, and Eureka and Warehouse 13! Those shall tide me over. (BTW, I think you might like Eureka. It took me a bit but I really love it now.)

Erimem is my favourite forever, I am sad that there are no more audios with her and that fandom tends to overlook her :(

1. I would have wanted that so much when I was little. *is weird*

2. Yay, Vastra and Jenny! There should totally be a spin-off, or at least more fic. Though at least there's a comm: [livejournal.com profile] lizardladylove. That makes me happy.

3. People are silly.

6. OMG, Camelot was amazing. And I only watched it in the first place cause you were going on about how awesome it was, so I suppose I should thank you for that. ;-)
