*head-tilty of interested* My favorite is Henry Daniell (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0199787/), from one of the Basil Rathbone Holmes movies (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0038259/). He's got a wonderfully snaky, understated style that matches well with Rathbone's Holmes, and I am sadface he was only Moriarty once. (Their other Moriarty, Lionel Atwill (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0041172/), was definitely on the "all right, I guess?" level of Moriartiness for me.) Have you seen him?
'Course, I am quite dismissive of book!Moriarty for being so very pastede on yey; he only turns up because Doyle wanted to get rid of Holmes, and then is retconned into "Valley of Fear" by way of... existing beforehand. He's never impressed me as an actual super supervillain, if that makes sense; his evil genius-ness is all tell and no show. I'd vote for Milverton or... um, pretty boy who gets the vitriol thrown at him... ahead of Moriarty.

*sorry, I seem to have written a screed*
