Okay, so possibly I side-eye myself slightly for the fact that the first Kickstarter project I've ever given money to is one which has already raised over a million dollars. BUT OMG DUDES IT'S TIM SCHAFER, who's greatly responsible for AWESOME BITS OF MY CHILDHOOD THAT DON'T INVOLVE DOCTOR WHO, or the first two Monkey Islands (aka the brilliant ones), Day of the Tentacle, Grim Fandango; in other words, point and click adventure games. That The Industry now hates and never wants to make again, thus to Kickstarter, a a record-breaking Kickstarter.
Here is a handy link if you too wish to back such nifty keen adventure game makingness, and see it happen and get the game when it's done.
And, oh, TIM SCHAFER. The vid there IS JUST LOVELY, by which I mean funny, BUT ALSO LOVELY. (And now I really want a framed print of the original box art of Secret of Monkey Island on my wall). "Either the game will be great, or it'll be a spectacular failure caught on camera for everyone to see." Hurrah!
...I hope no publishers really laughed in his face though, cause that would make me sad.
