But mostly, I delighted at how this episode managed to deconstruct SO MUCH that RTD got wrong after Rose left. From the resolving of the tedious Doctor-emo, getting the audience on the companion's side, 'testing' a new companion, to inviting her onboard and giving her the key. The 'this is how you do it right' aspect is so overt it's lolarious.
THANK YOU. I feel like in order for the audience to move on to a new companion, we need to follow the Doctor as our guide. Since Ten was written that he basically never got over Rose's departure, many Rose/Ten fans weren't able to move on to the other awesome socks companions to come after. I'll be the first to admit that I haven't stopped shipping Amy/11 because idgaf but I freakin' LOVELOVELOVE Clara. And can't wait to see her in her new clever, flirty interactions with the Doctor.
