Short & Curly
May. 23rd, 2007 04:37 pmIf there's anything greater than Bonnie Langford and Sandi Toksvig dancing together on stage, the latter in a madly sparkling red glittery jacket, I think that it probably exists ONLY IN YOUR HEAD.
Dude. The Cakesy one, Claire and Jen and I went to see Short & Curly last night, which is Bonnie and Sandi's two-women show that is currently touring and it is Just A Bit Great. Not just because they are both rather adorable (omg! Sandi so very short! I never knew that) but they are clearly utterly in love, in a beautiful and probably platonic sense, and when Bonnie sings Sandi is grinning happily as she watches her and is is quite the most perfect thing ever. And Bonnie tells jokes badly and Sandi shakes her head sadly at her and promises to teach her out to do them better and they spend Half The Show appealing to Sarah in the shallowest way possible by talking in those New York accents that are in Guys & Dolls and that recent Dalek episode of Doctor Who.
And, lo, I knew that Sandi Toksvig was a very funny lady and has smashing comedy timing, but when she has an audience she is even betterer and it's rather fabulous and she sings a little bit, but mostly it's Bonnie singing and Bonnie sings a love song at her, omg, and it has a bit about being lovers and they sort of correct that by shaking heads and saying probably not really then cheerfully ignore it because it might possibly be true, I ASSUME.
But, yes, it was greatness. WELL DONE THEM.
