I like Bagels. Beautiful, beautiful bagels. For I, in my hasty let's-just-chuck-stuff-in-backpack-half-an-hour-before-leaving-fae-the-train packing plan, forget one or two important things for uni and thus have popped home to get 'em. I am not here for the Internets, oh no. But bagels, yes! I like food when travelling. It is Nice. And I used to buy a baguette, but Ye Olde Bagueete Shop (um, Upper Crust, I think) shut for refurbishment in Teh Edinburger and thus I had to find another seller of foodstuffs. Bagels! They make the bagel! And toast it. And so many bagelly type bagels. And the staff are so much more lovely. They smile! And give you a wee card so that when you have bought ten bagels they give you a Free Bagel. Which will be the Bestest Bagel Ever. Cause it'll be free. I chose an Exciting New Variety of Bafel today with tuna and chilis and did not pick out the vegetables (am far too proud of this fact) and hot chocolate and it was delicious and lovely and a fabulous train trip. Until I got trainsick for the tuna mad me a bit nauseous but am attempting to overlook this fact and celebrate the yumminess of the bagel, yes. Bagel!

This was a post about Bagels.

Or, it was, one of the things I'd forgotten was me BBC Radio Collection o missing DW episodes. Got a couple more at Christmas and hadn't had a chance to listen to em yet. But, yes, I have a Good Feeling about this year, when I will Finally Complete the Collection, oh yes. Just The Chase and Planet of the Daleks left to find and then onto Radio Collecting, hurrah!

But, yes, so far on CD have Marco Polo, Galaxy Four, Myth Makers, Power of the Daleks, Enemy of the World and Dalek Masterplan. I know I've asked for recs before but should anyone wish to advise that any of the remainder are truly fabulous (um, again) please do. So far Myth Makers, and Power are winning as being Teh Best. Still.

I celebrate the bagel with you, because the coffeeshop where I like to lurk and write is, in fact, a coffee-and-bagel shop, and I had a lovely garlic bagel for lunch, with spinach and smoked turkey and tomato in it.

There is also that slightly amusing joke about bagels and seagulls. Sadly, I can't remember it.

Why are seagulls named after the sea?
Because otherwise they'd be called bay-gulls!

A-ha.

ceremony wasn't much, but the reception was brilliant.

"So far Myth Makers, and Power are winning as being Teh Best. Still."

Hurrah! Told you! And I'm extra happy as the first was Christmassy Gift, hurrah! :-D

What did you think of "Galaxy 4"? Out of the ones you've got it's the only one I didn't love. In fact, it's pretty dull. And childish without being childlike. And dull. And a bit duller.

Um, recommendations? "Macra Terror" is a good Troughton story. "The Massacre" (again) is a decent dramatic type one, and Steven gets a lot to do in it. Um... They're probably the best ones left.

Oh, and The Web of Fear, though it falls apart completely in episode 6, is rather good if you're listening to it in the dark. And it's the first story with Lethbridge Stewart, y'know.

I was going to get you Macra Terror for Xmas prezzie, but decided to go for mini Troughton instead... :-)

I love on bagels too! They are truly a wonder of nature.

But I especially love the fact that you are Elaine about bagels and the free-tenth-bagel. You cannot comprehend how very Elaine you are because you do not have the Obsessive Elainelove but it is true. And it amuses me muchly.

But, yes. Bagels are shiny great. And not-picking-out-vegetables is an Achievement.

If I can bring myself to fork out £12 for that rubbishy story.

I got the CD of "The Crusade" as an Xmas present. That's nice isn't it? And it's not as pointless as it seems (given that all four episodes are on the Lost in Time set) because now I have episodes 2 and 4 with *narration*! And "The Crusade" is a radio play, dammit! Like The Myth Makers and Marco Polo! It just *is*!

And then I can open a box and you'll pop out and go "HALLO!!!" and we could watch Peter Cushing in a Hammer telly series being serious with Demholm Elliot and you could eat all my Christmas chocolate.
