I loved that. I did.

And here is my Oh-So-Exciting Penultimate Bullet Point Thing of the Series:

Right, first thing: I'd actually heard a rumour about a Dalek/Cyberman war. But it was a joke. So I thought. Surely such a fanwanky thing could never be done? Oops. But...but..but since we've now finally seen how Peggy Mitchell got into Doctor Who and heck, that worked for me - twas hilarious, yes - I am still confident it will not be awful. War on Earth - Cybermen v. Daleks - humans caught in the middle. That could easily not be completely awful.

  • MICKEY! OMG! His reappearance was not the first shriek I gave, but it was probably the loudest. His confidence, his cool, he was TRULY FABULOUS. "Mickey, Mickey Smith. Defending the Earth." I died a little bit inside. (Though, admittedly, this is now causing me huge worries that they will kill him.)

  • Ten/Jackie, dude. I am amused that the Doctor has now snogged three women this series and none of them were actually properly Rose and one was her mother. Then to see Nos's One Horrid Thing That Never Happened To The Doctor actually happening on-screen...well, yes, that was pretty darn special.

  • "They can shoot me dead, but I'll still have the moral high ground" - I paraphrase, yes - that is now my One True Ten moment. Not just the words, but the way he says them and the expression. That's it, and I loved it.

  • Also DT brought it the whole way though. Everything was fabulous, even when he was loud and especially when he was quiet. Adored how he convinced Yvonne to stop the program by doing nothing.

  • Old Skool reference! - the Eternals (Enlightenment, dude) call it the Howling. (Also, possible Bad Wolf thing?)

  • Jackie's reaction to the Doctor 'killing' those people, Tennant getting away with being loud!angry there and Yvonne's "Ew! It goes in their brains!" was both disturbing and wonderful. I have very much love.

  • I love Yvonne. I want Ten/Yvonne, oh yes.

  • Rose was great - she didn't seem to be in it much, but she was intelligent and pro-active and Doing Things. And she'd even learned stuff about the TARDIS and she did have a lovely cute moment with Ten with Not Knowing what things on the console did. Muchly liked that.

  • All that stuff about the Void, ain't that where he went in The Mind Robber?

  • As for the Sphere, was guessing constantly what was in it, much to annoyance of Parental. Cries of ROMANA ROMANA DAMMIT, were clearly not heard by the telly. Also Face of Boe (when he coming back?), Jack, and many other Time Lords. Also, at first I thought the Sphere was some sort of Time Lord technology and that was why the Doctor looked at it so funny.

  • Anyone else think the Time Lords have set up some sort of colony in this Void? At the very least, it's pretty much all the explanation they need for having one of them survive what with the whole Magic Outside of Time stuff with the Sphere and it Being Undetectable and able to Sit Out The Big Bang. There's got to at least be another one with a Time Lord in it SURELY?? (Er, yes, I might want another Time Lord Quite Badly, shhh.)

  • And after all that stuff at the beginning with the general belief in the dead coming back, Jackie talking about after she'd gone, and Rose losing herself if she stays with the Doctor forever, I am pretty convinced Jackie's gonna cop it and Rose is going to find her own path and "this is when I died" is a metaphor for summin'.

  • Cack, I am really worried about the fanwankiness of Cybermen v. Daleks. And did they actually keep that quiet or have I just been really good at avoiding spoilers?

  • And, really, it should be no contest, Daleks would win flat-out and at least they seem to realise that what with it being three Daleks v. Millions of Cybermen. And I'm still pretty sure the Cybermen don't stand a chance.

  • Ghostbusters! Another lovely Ten/Rose moment, and the humour was just right for me in this one, and I do love their relationship here, and I guess I can see why they had to be so nauseating in T&C, else Vicky might not have got pissed off enough to found the Institute.

  • I might even like Jackie now, dammit. Her and Ten, well, yeah, they're good. (MAYBE JACKIE IS NEW COMPANION??)

  • Nice to see another alien world, even if it only was a couple of lines and a twenty second shot at the beginning. It was a very pretty alien world, yes.

  • I think the only thing (apart from my worries re. Fanwankery Dalek v. Cybermen stuff) I didn't really like was Rose saying she was going to be with the Doctor forever. Just, dude, stop with the sledgehammer already.

  • In conclusion, I eagerly await next week and will probably end up wishing hate on them all cause I bet it's some horrific cliffhanger, hmph.

ETA: Ah havnae seen next week's trailer TELL ME NOTHING. Thank you. :)

I liked the other planet too. It amused me that it was still slightly quarry-esque. That was the first time I cried in the episode. I teared up a little at Mickey too. I thought the interaction between him and Rose was very interesting. She was just a little clingy (reaching out to touch him) and he didn't seem quite so keen. probably because Byker Grove Boy is now his boyfriend

Mickey loves Jake, so he does. I am dead scared they're not going to make it through next week. :(

I think it would be amusing if Jackie was the new companion. RTD is a big enough fan of Camille's for it to happen. *g*.

I loved the Eternal's reference. And I don't think Rose is going to actually die. At least I hope not. Actually I'm wondering if we're going to get some kind of Phoenix reference from the x-men type thing. Rose becomes the Bad Wolf again but at a major cost.

I...I don't want Rose to be Magick. I would quite like her to save things, but to do it with her own skills and determination and such. *flails a bit* But I can't really, actually see that happening and I can see Magick and hmm, yes, quite.

Twas a very good episode, can't wait to see it, but dreading the prospect of tons of fanwanking going on too.

My mate is mates with someone who stars in the Doctor Who plays in Portsmouth/Plymouth (it's starts with a P...) and the said mate's mate found out from one of the producers the Dalek/Cyberman thing was going to happen, so I knew about it for a few weeks. Was hoping it was going to be something else in the sphere...I for one want to see the Master coming back XD

Technically, Jackie snogged him, he didn't snog her back. In fact, he wiped the kiss off, which made me laugh, like little boy with a despised auntie. And Cassandra snogged him, he didn't snog her back. In fact, the only girl he might have snogged back is Reinette. And who can blame him? :D

I'm hoping for some form of temporal anomaly when it airs here in Australia and we still get to see her.

Yes, I'm the equivalent one of those Doctor/Rose shippers who want Rose to regenerate when it comes to Romana, and I have no problems with that.

And if they kill Mickey, it's just another reason to spork/drop anvils on RTD in his sleep.

It's been rumoured that the Daleks were going to come back - The Sun actually reported it as fact some time ago but the beauty with that was that, well, pff, it was The Sun. Who the Hell's going to believe that?

That's why an undisclosed BBC source leaked to the press that the Cybermen were definitely coming back, so that the media would think we already knew the main twist. Then they brought back the Daleks too, which was jolly nice.

I just saw the episode today (I was busy in London this weekend, rubbing shoulders with Carrie Fisher and cast members from Lost and Johnny Depp and quite a few more *squee*) and I was really blown away by it. Best episode of season two by far IMHO. Had the same sort of epic feel that TCI had too, I thought, and Murray Gold's score was at it's best. RELASE A CD SOUNDTRACK, DAMNIT! Er, please?

Unfortunantly my Mum spoiled the Mickey thing, though I wasn't expecting him at *that* moment so it was still quite cool. Hasn't he come such a long way since "Rose"? Such wonderful character developement...so naturally I'm panicking madly over his fate in the next eppy. *bites nails*

There were so many cool bits in this ep. Ghostbusters! Jackie-as-Rose saying "I'm 40!" and the Doctor claiming she was deluded. Like you I am worried for Jackie also. I've got her down as the one most likely to cop it, to be honest. I can just feel it. It'll be either her or Mickey, I'm sure one of them will die. :-(

Aa for the fan wank, I'm keeping away. I will post my reviews, then that'll be that. I'm not going to read through pages of negative rubbish and have it bring me down if I enjoy the episode. What's the point? I'll just read your reviews instead, since they're such fun and I usually agree with most things. :-)
