Oh, telly is being very good right now. It's like it's trying to apologise for not having any more Middleman. First there is Lost in Austen, something I'd've completely ignored were it not for the, ah, Wholehearted Endorsements of teh flist. Yes. It's fanfic, beautiful, beautiful, 'bamph!' I believe the genre is referred to, in LotR at least, fanfic and IT MAKES ME V GLEEFUL.

The thing about the first episode that I absolutely loved was Nancy offa tEC/tDD being Kitty and having lines and a personality and she was great! Well done her and also the writers for taking advantage of Lizzie's absence to do give poor neglected Kitty something to do. It was a bit great. And I like Lydia. I've never ever liked Lydia before. It's v strange. And also there is Alex Kingston being a most wonderful Mrs Bennet and I think they are being cleverer than what I thought with Darcy as he was cardboard, but in the second episode he was slightly less cardboard and the way I felt about him was a lot more similar to how Elizabeth felt at first than anything that had Colin Firth in it. So possibly they actually know what they are doing there and soon there will be no cardboard left at all.

But, oh, it all went so beautifully wonderfully wrong in episode two! And Amanda telling Bingley she was gay to get him to focus on Jane was quite, quite marvellous. As was Bingley's determined declaration of "SHE HAS PARACETAMOLS!" in defence of Amanda's nursing skills. And mostly it is like cocoa and duvet and is gloriously good fun. In many ways like MM... with less aliens.

The other thing that is now back that I love is not Sarah Connor, for I've not actually seen it yet, but I assume it will be Quite Good, is Prison Break, for which I have embarrassing amounts of love. Mostly the shame is due to the seriously bad freezer habit the show has with women, but after the last episode the guilt eased off a tad as not only was Gretchen's death which looked like a fake-out actually a fake-out but Pam isn't dead either, hurrah! Not that I'd say she had a character exactly, but still, that and bringing Sarah back from the dead (I LOVES SARAH) does make it seem like they realised how awful they'd been and decided to stop it a bit and that is pleasing.

Also there is Mahone, who is as beautiful as ever and normally I have no interest in angsty-angst but Mahone's angst is possibly my favourite angst ever and I loves it and they also decided it wasn't enough that he was incredibly slashy with Micheal, OH NO, now they have to have an entire subplot devoted to him being incredibly slashy with Lincoln culminating in beautiful scene featuring aforesaid angst and much Manly Touching. It was greatness. There will be more of that I hope, yes.

I have no icons for either of these shows, alas. I should really find some that aren't Doctor Who.

"Lost in Austen" cracks me up. The way I've been pitching it to friends is "Last Action Hero" meets "Pride & Prejudice". It's not the best description, but it certainly sparks their interests. I adore Alex Kingston as Mrs Bennett and it's nice to see Nancy again.

HELLO.

Lost In Austen is so much less terrible than I thought it might be, I love it, I love the way she looks at them, I love when she thought that one had contacts in.

OH GOD MAHONE AND MAKING LINCOLN LOVEHIM OH MY GOD. I can say no more. Because OH. They are wonderful and I love Mahone, I would watch anything I think just to see his beautiful ways and OH GOD. I love that he came in and said to Michael who is a genius 'OH IT IS A CODE' and Michael pretended they didn't know that and worked it out and I couldn't tellif he was being sarcastic or if he was just lying to make his boyfriend feel needed. They had such brilliant opportunities for Mahone in season 3 and I don't think they did their best but I LOVE SEASON FOUR SO FAR A BIT ECSTATICALLY. I LOVE EVERYONE, I LOVE THEIR GANG, I LOVE THEIR COMPUTER MAN, I love that Sarah has come back andis pointless but there.

I love that they are now A TEAM and they have A HIDEOUT. Mahone was running last ep. RUNNING. It was beautiful. I love how they dress him; it is quite lovely. SEASON THREE HAS MY LOVE BECAUSE I WAS RUBBISH AT MAHONE IN TWO. It took much ruffledness for me to realise he is great and then I had to go watch two again to properly appreciate the Mahone/Micheal, yes.

Fandom maked Lincoln/Mahone fic. It is not great and I care less than nothng.

Mahone was entirely loveable in season 3, but Michael was SO CROSS WITH HIM and only very occasionally pushed him up against walls and went 'OH GOD OUR SEXUAL TENSION, MAHONE, WHAT SHALL WE DO??????' and the rest of the time he was BARELY NEAR HIM AT ALL. I know he didn't spend a lot of time near him in season 2 either, but they did just obsess over each other more and hm. Season 3 should have been spectac.

I miss John Abruzzi. Was he called John? I miss C-note and John. But mostly John. Did C-Note die? Why did that happen? Why didn't they magic EVERYONE back when they got Sarah?

CNOTE GOT A HAPPY ENDING JENNIFER. A beautiful perfect happy ending which was PERFECT AND NOT TO BE TRIFLED WITH. I was v sad they took Abruzzi away. He looked quite dead, though not as dead as a Head In A Box.

MICHEAL DID SAY IN S3 THAT HE LOVED MAHONE BUT MAHONE HAD KILLED HIS FATHER SO HE COULDN'T LOOK AT HIM. That is what I heard anyway. It was quite wonderful. THEY ARE IN THE SAME SCENE ALL THE TIME NOW.

That is what I heard. I also heard Michael muttering about how if he gives Mahone all the really difficult dirty jobs then Mahone just keeps getting scruffier and worrieder and MORE AND MORE BEAUTIFUL EVERY TIME HE COMES BACK, SO MUCH WIN. Michael is great, I love him despite his not being quite as quietly mad after season one and hardly ever cuddling his brother for warmth.

WITNESS PROTECTION! This is the happy ending of which you speak. Michael is a GENIUS at breaking into things, he could break into witness protection and find C-Note and make him come and help. I WANT HIM BACK. HE IS NOT DEAD, HE SHOULD COME BACK.

Thank you another person loves Lost in Austen! I love love love Alex Kingston in it she is so brilliant! I just love that it really does something different with P&P instead of just doing yet another adaption and it's really nice like you said to see more of the characters and explore them more. It reminds me of improvisations that you do in Drama classes to 'explore the background' of a character.

I love Prison Break too well sort of I've only seen 1 1/2 but it was good while I was still watching. Is it worth catching up I have to ask?

You have Rome Icons don't you?(also a programme that I like)

Is "steer the punt from the Cambridge end" really a period euphamism for Lesbianism?

I AM VASTLY ENTERTAINED.

I think Kitty may be -- as in, has always been -- my favorite of the Bennett sisters.

And Bingley sounds precious. XD But then, he is Bingley.

Yesssssss.

I love how much Bingley/Jane gets focused on, because (and I think this makes me a sociopath) I love Bingley/Jane much more than Lizzie/Darcy.
