I ate bad peanut butter and do not feel well. Please let nuts not be horribly poisonous when off. Thank you.

This made me flail. It is that lovely girl!fandom-boy!fandom thing phrased in an e'er so slighty offensive way. Men debate, women rave, don't cha know? ETA: Now somewhat less flaily as there was a nice sensible reply from Shaun in the thread onna OG.

Nice things...nice things...this! Lovely Freema! Being beautiful! It is a smashing picspam of loveliness and also some pics what I haven't seen before, with amusing quotes for added yay. Also I have reluctantly come to the conclusion it is Christmastime, but really was only convinced when this shiny vid thing popped into my inbox. Tis by Babelcolour, ie that bloke what did the Delagado!Master & Three lightsaber battle. And that made me remember this which is A VERY VERY HAPPY Christmas vid* by [livejournal.com profile] croc_rocketfan I believe.

* V HAPPY. I WOULD NOT FIB DURING CHRISTMASTIME OBV.

Mm, iconspaces. Also a bijillion entries to tag in [livejournal.com profile] calufrax and so many lovely people signed up, hurrah! I LUVS THEM ALL. Any moment now that nasty peanut butter nausea will go away.

Ironman is onna telly. I hate Ironman. Of all the superheroes in the world, Ironman is most hated. Even more than Wolverine and I really hate Wolverine. Have no good reason for this but think it's probably something to do with the Marvel Action Hour cartoon and the main bad dude being The Mandarin. Being small and coccooned from the real world I hadn't the foggiest this was slightly dodgy and more than a bit Yellow Peril, rather I thought he was a terribly lame Ming the Merciless and name after a fruit. And it's bloody silly to have a villain named after a fruit. Especially an orange fruit when he's green.

Sadly Robert Downey Junior trumps irrational hatred. Alas.

Exactly which "techno-savvy nerds debating continuity and canon" are they talking about, the OG guys who can accept a flying box, timeline-eating pterodactyls and self-reproducing death machines that run on static electricity without a murmur but who can write 20,000-word essays about how it's scientifically impossible for the Doctor not to have white skin?

To be fair, last time I was in a thread with that debate there was just one dude who was being a twit and a dozen or so posters either poking or ignoring him while the actual discussion was which black actor fen would most like to see in the role.

I am impatient to hear more about the potential companion/s, but I'll have to stay impatient for a long while to come. I wonder when they'll announce Eleven's casting?

Weren't they talking about a Celtic companion from a previous decade/century? Or was that another "spoiler" from That Somewhat Unstable Guy Who Claims To Be Best Friends With All Of Team Cardiff?

I just recently watched that Carol of the Bells vid. It was AMAZING. My favorite part was the piano bit with various characters walking through grass. Also, I just love Carol of the Bells quite hugely.

It's going to be an... interesting Gally.

Still, lots of awesome cosplayers have said they're coming along, so Brewster is squeeful all the same.

Eee, a shiny rec from you! I am most flattered and chuffed, thank you. :-D

Iron Man hate is perfectly valid. I can't stand Tony Stark in the comics. Although film!Tony is an entirely different matter -- him I quite like because Downey Jr's performance is fan-freaking-tastic. I should be ashamed of this, but, erm, not enough.

Ommigod, it's not just me who despises Wolverine. He's dreadful. Rogue and Magneto ftw.

Oh if you thought the Mandarin in the cartoons was bad, the oriental villains in the original 1960s comics were actually coloured yellow. They have changed this in almost every reprint since, it's really uncomfortable reading the early issues at times.

I am a sad Iron Man fanboy, so naturally I love the movie to bits and pieces.

I think the part that depressed me most was the comments, when someone was defending the sexism as hard as racism has been defended.

Indeed, a potential panel of fail, but I am hopeful given the amendation to the description. And also probably not gong to be at Gally (since I was wanting another con to attend next year, but I believe it's in February and that's a bit early for my budget).

Happily, my initial exposure to Iron Man was the movie, so I'm free to love RDJ in all his gleeful asshaberdashery and not worry about the comic. And I'm briefly tempted to take umbrage on Wolvie's behalf, except for the thing where my initial exposure to him was as played by Hugh Jackman, and well. (Saw that first X-Men movie eight times in the theater IIRC, ahem.) I can see disliking him based on a cartoon (especially since it's one I never saw).
