- Have maybe been playing Mass Effect a ridiculous amount this week, and now Mass Effect 2 has arrived and I can't open it because I know how rubbish I am and "oh, just an hour's break" will turn into a six hour marathon. Mostly I like ME lots but there are two things I sort of hate in games: guns and driving. And there's a rather significant portion of ME taken up with shooting and driving AT THE SAME TIME. Also it would've been great if I'd known the wee car had a cannon as well as a machine gun about five days ago, yes. And I wish it sounded less like a Micro Machine.

Elsewise, OMG I CAN'T BELIEVE THE GAME MAKES YOU KILL SOMEONE. I mean, I am all behind Killing Proper Characters, especially when its ones I can't stand but mostly I am dreadful at being a Bad Guy and end up being Nauseatingly Heroic so the pixels don't judge me and, oh, YOU CAN'T SAVE EVERYONE. Boo. I don't even hate any of My Team! Usually there's someone I wouldn't mind shooting (hello Mission!), but here they're all Quite Interesting at least.

Sadly it's not really a proper choice as to who dies because one of them is Not!Carth and my KoTOR love is epic.

- Am a bit ridiculously looking forward to this week's Who. The clips are a bit flaily. ELEVENTY MADE A NOISE THAT WAS BRILLIANT.

- There is awesome casting news for next season's SJA, as possibly everyone who cares knows Quite A Lot by now. I really should finish watching the third series. I saved it cause I expected EoT to be rub and wanted to end Ten!tiem with a non-rubbish Ten adventure, yes.

- though I admit my first though re Casting Spoiler was "that's nice, but Liz Shaw is My Favourite, why can't we have her?"

- Jo Grant's character arc goes like this: year one, save the world; year two, save the universe; year three, discover cause on Earth she'd rather fight than go off into time and space with Doctor then off for adventures down the Amazon. So she is not My Favourite, but she is a bit good really. Also, ELEVENTY WILL BE THERE.

- I've got hayfever. I've not got antihistamines. This situation is Most Horrid. Sneezing fits are not of the good.

- [livejournal.com profile] fan_eunice has been reviewing Eleventy episodes in vid form. They are great and Most Cheering.

I also have hayfever and no antihistimines. It's a rubbish state of being. I have £10 to last me the rest of this week, because I can't count, and I'm seriously considering trading food for functioning eyeballs.

My eyeballs work, most yayfully. It's only when it gets really horrid that they start streaming. Mostly I would like the back of my mouth to stop itching horridly. Or nature to die. One of those things.

That noise Eleven made is like what I spend about a third of my life sounding like. I HAVE TARDIS LUNGS, OMG YAY.

"but she is a bit good really"

Yes she is a bit! Oh Josie, I'm so excited. Also she started off all sneakypants and graduated to the ability to dismissively scoff and laugh at people in their face, though she still generally preferred to be nice. <3 But honestly, if Liz and the rest of the UNIT fellas were there I'd be totally flying. Or just all three girls; they would be hilarious.

"I've not got antihistamines."

NOOOOOOOOOO!

I'm happy for the Jo fans, but honestly, if they're going to bring someone back, they should bring back Ian and/or Susan, while there's still time... :(

YES. *wants* Even though I love Sarah Jane Adventures, I'd love to see them on Doctor Who.

I still have my fingers desperately crossed for a Susan reappearance, but if that's going to happen, I want it to be with much fanfare on the mothershow. Luckily, I'm assuming Susan can regenerate, so the possibility will never go away, I'll just mentally nag the producers until I die.

I still think that was her played by Claire Bloom in End of Time.

Yeah, me too. I still want the Doctor to run into a pre-Time War Susan so they can have family/abandonment/where the hell did the planet go issues and he can inadvertently cause her to break in through the already faulty time lock and join the war.

Oh, yes! I don't care what RTD or anybody else says: they left it open, so I'm saying it was Susan still looking out for her granddad after all these years.

(And when Wilf asked the Doctor who the Woman was, who did the Doctor look at? Wilf's granddaughter.)

At the launch party, Katy Manning told my ladyfriend that she was going to be on the tellybox again soon. It is to my eternal disgrace that instead of reporting this news like a diligent blogger and reaping a Whowide exclusive, my initial reaction was: 'Yeah, right.' I still love Jo, but she is very much the Ringo of Pertwee companions, for me at least.

I love Mass Effect... and I thought that Mass Effect 2 was quite an improvement, although I'm sure a lot of people really hate the one grindy-task that it has. There's still guns, but No Driving, so that's an improvement, yes?

1. I love how he makes the noise. I've been practicing. That's how I'm going to make the noise from now on.

2. Get thee to a television and watch S3 SJA! It was fabbo! The Doctor needs to show up more on SJA. It's prime opportunity for him to become The Assistant.

3. (I thought that too.)

4. Aww. I hope you obtain antihistamines and/or feel better soon.

Sorry to hear about the hayfever - I can only imagine how much it sucks. (Norway had snow today, so yeah, not quite hayfever season yet here.)

I more or less ocntinued my game of "Let's wind up Carth" through ME, taking it to the furthest extent I could by getting him blown up in a nuclear explosion.

Me and my brother and my mate Alec all did the thing with not realising the Mako had a cannon too.

Having "met" you through Who fandom... it tickles me IMMENSELY to know you are also a purveyor of other Finer Things... Namely, KOTOR and ME.

re: SJA

I'm beginning to think that SJA's idea of Cool Guest Stars is Beloved Who Characters. Not that I'm complaining! First the Brig, then Ten, now Eleven and Jo!

Is it wrong that what I'm looking forward to most is Clyde's reaction to... well, anything? It's the kids' first round with regeneration, after all.

(I also have hay fever, though mostly autumn-oriented. I sympathize, anyway!)

The cynical part of me suggests that the Beloved Who Characters guest stars may be due to a lower casting budget than the mothershow - Katy Manning probably commands a slightly smaller wedge o' wonga than John Simm or Bernard Cribbins...

You really make me want Mass Effect. Instead I shall content myself with Lego Batman.

I do not think you will be disappointed with Ten's episode!

...Oh, Jo/Sarah/Liz would have been even more fantastic. They could have tied P.R.O.B.E. in!

/pets your nose?
