Merlin's back! I had no idea! Smashing surprise. (Please let Morgana have some agency this season and maybe have some episodes that are not Romances-Of-The-Week kthxbi.)

• So while I do love all the Merlin dudes, my greatest love is for Morgana/Uther and all the lovely lovely subtext what they give there. So an epic quest with little hope of success that's killing dozens of your knights to find the woman you love your ward? AWESOMESAUCE.
  
  
• Shirtless!Arthur, hurrah! That is one theme from last series that I was very much in favour of.
  
  
• OMG MORGANA AND UTHER DO A LITTLE RUN AND HUG AND ARE CRYING BECAUSE THE LOVE EACH OTHER OMG NOW HE WANTS HER TO SIT ON HIS THRONE. I LOVE THEM SO.
  
  
• It's a bit too good to be true really... this is all going to be a horrid sneaky trick, isn't it and she's actually gone a bit eeeeevil? Oh, she has...she's done an evil!smile. DAMMIT.
  
  
• At least there is Morgause turning up. That makes things a bit better. And all Morgana's shiny new dresses, cause I am easy for that sort of thing.
  
  
• MORGAUSE IS FREAKIN AWESOME. Just sayin'.
  
  
• New Merlin drinking game: take a sip every time Morgana does her Evil Smile™.
  
  
• "Then we must stop him." "That will not be difficult." "Why?" "Because he's already here." Lols! For once Rubbish Sneaking is, in fact, treated as Rubbish Sneaking. Marvellous.
  
  
• Unexpected!dragonrescue, heh.
  
  
• Cliffhanger! And for a story that actually seems to be worth the two parts. Great character stuff, loads of Morgana and Uther, numerous Bechdel winning conversations and rather a bit Proper Epic. Sadly lacking in Gwen, but other than that, most awfully enjoyed. Well done, Merlin.
