Torchwood Miracle Day episode 3
I wish there wasn't a different cut for US and UK telly. I feel like I might be MISSING OUT by not seeing both. I'm not going to see both, obviously. I might be enjoying the series, but I'm not silly.
Gwen did a really smashing kick at the end of episode two. I feel that should be noted.

nonelvis, I've spent too much time today reading this blog which discusses the legal inaccuracies in Miracle Day. Fascinating stuff.

- "Not bad, team," says Jack. I feel I must concur. I do like teams. Even if they are accompanied by daft music.
- I approve of Rex wandering around with his shirt off. That should totally be his thing. He is stil my favourite New One, even if he is A Total Jerk.
- The US/UK jokes do not work for me as the Welsh jokes or the Scottish jokes of current Who, ALAS. Apart from the driving one. Mostly cause of Gwen's expression and are "oooooh" at realising she's on the wrong side of the road.
- Oh, Gwen's car stealing ways. She also appears to have taken up EYEBROW-RAISING. Am so easily pleased by Gwen, stfu.
- NOW SHE HAS A SCREWDRIVER IN HER MOUTH. And is breaking into some security thing. THIS IS GREAT. I bet there will be scenes without Gwen soon. I WILL JUDGE THOSE SCENES HARSHLY.
- PhiCorp sounds almost exactly like Psi Corps. Thus every time it is mentioned a TINY TINY PART OF ME is optimistic enough to hope Walter Koenig is about to show up.
- "Bigger on the inside than the outside." Love for making the most obvious of all possible injokes.
- Actually much as I love Gwen, I could also watch a show that was just about Vera and her dudes dealing with the crisis. Probably that would not be a great show - mostly they would be round the table as they are here flailing and arguing with each other - but I'm tots loving these scenes and they are never long enough for me.
- Three for three on Bechdel test passing.
- I'm almost certain I wasn't supposed to laugh, but Rex having a go at Jack about Torchwood's incompetence was lolarious.
- I, er, might be slashing Gwen and Esther a bit. It's not my fault! It's the script! It's all gone a bit mentor/protege and now they're holding hands, goodness sake.
- So it's a worldwide crisis affecting the whole human race that they're trying to solve and Jack's gone off to have a quick shag in a club? I just...yeah. Okay then.
- Gwen fibs about about having to go on the mission and Esther knows that she fibs and tralalala shippity-ship, sorry Rhys.
- Bill Pullman has tots ruined Independence Day for me.

I KNOW. When I need rescued from aliens can I have Gwen come save me, please? Gwen is lovely, and shippable with Esther as well as many other people, everyone should have a Gwen.

Gwen should be on ALL THE TEAMS. In my head she is like the Welsh Ellen Ripley.

I need to catch up on this. Too much going on this summer.

This is one of the fundamental problems with "Miracle Day": there are scenes without Gwen. I liked her just fine in previous seasons, but Eve Myles is *so* good in this one.

LOL. I feel the same. :) Although this time round all they cut were the sex scenes, so to be honest I'm wondering what we go that they didn't...

It's his completely rubbish way of trying to deal with the fact that he is now mortal. It's weird. I can see what the show is trying to do, but I can't really connect. Ah well, at least they're pretty. ;)

Aye, on the telly it just seemed so out of the blue and pasted on.

Yeah, that is basically what I told my husband. Ugh.
