I liked it as a creepy not-good thing the Doctor has forgotten to have any qualms about using, but then it blows up in his face because eee, dreams that outlive their dreamers.
See, that works rationally for me as an explanation, but it's one of those things that I really end up going "oh whatevs new series" at and having an old skool rant about....in my head.
Also yes, I love that Moffat is going through systematically cleaning up the dirty dishes that RTD left in the sink when he broke the Doctor and then didn't fix him back up again.
There is quite a list now, and there's no way at this point I don't think it's not deliberate.
