In which I learn to Tidy Up

Aha! The benefits of stubbornly refusing to give up on unpacking those boxes (and, indeed, to finish unpacking several boxes from, ah, last year) has led to Bountiful Goodness! I have discovered my missing CD from Daleks' Masterplan, hurrah! And my beautiful notepads with passwords for MMORPGs! And, some book of DS9 short stories that I must have bought, but I really can't remember, so it's like a Free Book Dude! Hurrah. Yes.
And have finally started listening to series 2 of Gallifrey and I have much love. Oddly, I actually liked the rather peculiar fourth chapter of the first series best. Possibly because it was set on a train and trains are always terribly exciting. Anyway, yes, Lies, fabulous, loved it very very much. Also loved Romana's two incarnations getting along terribly well and understanding one another as opposed to other Time Lords and Their Issues with their other incarnations. And they were both smashing, and Leela is growing on me a great deal (slight confession: I've never liked Leela, and for ages I had no great love for Romana either, the reason was these were the last two companions I ever got to see. And so I was relatively old when I finally got a chance to see them in action and whilst I loved Romana more each time I saw her, Leela was always just sort of...there.
But, yes, point is, these audios are really helping with that and she's quite smashing at the moment, yes. And am being very good and spacing them out, for I note that most of the third series is not actually out yet and WOAH.
(Also, knowing what actually does happen to Gallifrey under Romana's leadership does lend the whole thing a terribly melancholy air which, providing self is in a chipper mood, I rather love, yes.)
Then there is Narvin. Now, at first, I despised him, because I loved Vansel. Very, very much. I may have cried when he killed himself to save Romana in Neverland. But in Lies, he's truly fabulous. I think he'd been growing better and better all through the first series, but this one is where he really is with the devious intelligence and touch of humour things what I like, yes.
So now, I quite want to actually listen to Zagreus again, for Leela and Romana, and that's something I swore I'd never ever do again because the damn thing stole three hours of my life and it was utter cack, yes. Hrrrm.
I also need to make a list of ficathon deadlines, cause, dude, I have a lot and I know Multiverse is coming up and if I want to write the story that I think might possibly be, y'know, good, then I have to do All This Research (er, watching telly) for one of the fandoms.
PEOPLE IN LANCASHIRE KEEP STEALING MY HOUSES. This is very trying, yes, I want somewhere to live.
Little sister is home for a few days, which is smashing, for do not get to see her often and she is shiny. Though it does mean a battle for the telly buttons every night, ahrrm. Though she is rather liking new Doctor Who and watching stuff she's missed, heh. We did watch Quantum Leap together yesterday. I kept very, very quiet and did not say anything at all about the Love of Al and Sam. It was Quite Difficult.

Date: 2006-07-04 10:39 pm (UTC)And that stems on Mum not being able to look at an awful lot of shows from her childhood they same way because I Corrupted Them, apparently, by pointing out the blatant slashiness. Ahem. I was being Good, yes.
