A special Doctor Who scene what was done as a yayful surprise for a fan was on the telly last night, featuring Captain Jack and Mr Tennant. If you're in the UK, you can see it on BBC iPlayer, but unless you have a v high tolerance for Barrowman at his most Barrowmantastic, skip to 32.40. Don't be put off by the beginning! The good stuff is at the end and it is Most Glee! (Though in no way makes up for the horror of having Barrowman dancing and singing and throwing magic sparkles around on the telly Every Blasted Saturday.)

(It's also up on YouTube a bit, including here.)

That was intitially excruciating but I liked the twist at the end! "My TARDIS. MINE!" (I was watching Primeval so missed it... ahem.)

I do love Capt. Jack but Barrowman unleashed hits my wall o' embarrassment squick. And since he's all over your television I don't know how y'all avoid him!

But this was adorable. If anyone is writing Tennant/Barrowman RPS I don't think there is any doubt at this point who's the bottom.

There is nothing wrong with John Barrowman dancing and singing and throwing magic sparkles around. :)

*dons her sparkly tutu and dances around the room*

The scene was an extra-wonderful little twist though!

Lol! Oh luverly. "My TARDIS! Mine!"

I'm so looking forward to all the lovely iconage that simply HAS to come from this. :)

Hee! Oh that was fun. Used the Youtube clip because my Barrowman-tolerance is really rather low. Agree with you, the "My TARDIS. Mine" was fab.

Fantastic - thank you for the link (I find Barrowman hard to take, but the sketch is great.)

Damn it, LJ ate my comment.

I had wondered if Barrowman would run around and play on the sets after hours. This just confirms my suspicions that he does.

i have always wondered whether tennant would run around and play on the sets after hours, and by "wondered" i mean "assumed".

meanwhile i doubt the fan thought he was going to be involved in a scene that heavily implied kinky sexual roleplay, but then again, he knew he was going to appear with john barrowman so i don't suppose he should be overly surprised.

...children's television in britain is very strange.

I assumed too. I'm actually shocked that Tennant appeared to be "too cool" to play along as well. I would have figured he'd whip out a toy sonic screwdriver and start going 'PEW PEW PEW' too.

He totally does. Remember that picture of him in Time Lord robes?

And we love him for it.

Okay, like people say: squicky, not just Barrowman but the nerdy guy who gets to meet Tennant? Eek.

On the other hand: dude, if people don't write RPF Tennant/Barrowman after that we should all close up fandom and go home. "My TARDIS, mine."

Thanks for the YouTube link to the clip. I enjoyed it - the last bit when Tennant came in was gold. Very funny. :)

I loved it! (I am so deeply in the debt of kind Brits who post this stuff for us heathen Americans to watch.) My favorite part is at the end with John and Tim running around the TARDIS console like little boys. That would totally be me. Who wouldn't?

Oh, so cute! There was a little Mawdryn Undead moment near the start there. XD And the playing like three year olds! And David's deadpan hissing and his little concluding sniff and lol. That Tim fella really did do a good job of selling the villain. His performance was maybe a bit better than John's and I don't usually find John all that horrid

Aye, I was quite impressed with Tim. Definitely up to classic Doctor Who villain standards there.
