Having just bought I'm Proud of the BBC, this seemed an appropriate way to procrastinate from not!Nano:

Below is a list of all the shows mentioned in Mitch Benn's I'm Proud of the BBC. Bold = love (or have loved) it, Plain text = neutral, Strike through = never seen / listened to. (And I'm gonna asterisk stuff I hate, just incase you get the craaaaazy idea I ain't got no telly standards at all just cause I can't give up SPN.) (OH GOD SO BAD LAST WEEK; of all the shows that have no right to have a go at Twilight for being shite...)

Newsround - Where I got me news when I was an wee one.
Newsnight - I like it so long as I don't get so pissed off I switch off the telly.
iPlayer - Most handy!
Website - This is where I can most of my news.
Toni Arthur - She was a Play School presenter. I did watch that, but alas, my four year old self did not love.
Brian Cant - He's been in Doctor Who! Thus love, obv.
Spooks - Harry & Ruth make this show for me. I am shallowly fond of Lucas. And once upon a time there was A Proper Team and that rocked mightily.
Adam Adamant - I should've seen more of this than I have.
Postman Pat - I caught an episode of Modern Postman Pat a few years ago and was HORRIFIED. He had THE INTERWEBS.
Blackadder
Hancock - "That's very nearly an armful" is about all I can remember about Hancock's Half Hour.
Yes Minister - ::flaily hands:: this is maybe my fave sitcom? I think it might be, yes.
Later with Jools Holland
Pride and Prejudice - Is it wrong I love Lost in Austen more?
Hitchhikers Guide - My introduction to Hitchhikers, and has my favourite Ford Prefect.
World Service
Stewart Lee
Mr Benn* - I find him A BIT SCARY.
Casualty* - BLOOD! GUTS! SQUEAMISHNESS!
6 Music
Glastonbury
Horrible Histories - I watched it on [livejournal.com profile] jekesta's rec and it was sort of brilliant. Sometimes they sing about history, which is very pleasing.
Dennis Potter
C-Beebies* - okay, possibly this hate is because I'm not three years old and want them to make more telly for meeee and not tiny little people.
Quatermass - The Hammer films are pretty rocking, but the originals' have all the charm (although the first serial has a teeny tiny disadvantage of being two-thirds burninated.) Let us speak not of the horrid fake copy.
Two Ronnies* - I'M SORRY. I did love them briefly cause Patrick Troughton was in a sketch.
The Thick of It - AMAZINGNESS. Well done, [livejournal.com profile] meddow for a awesome pimpin post that meant I went and inhaled it in a couple of days.
Radio 3
Open University - On general principle, also I watched a lot of their biology stuff for a bit.
Mark Kermode & Simon Mayo
Round the Horne - I like what I've heard, which isn't very much, but still.
Goon Show
Blakes 7 - Yes, obviously. This is a shiny, shiny show of love and magic and Blake.
Dick and Dom* - KILL THEM. KILL THEM NOW. Wait, do they get counted as fictional or not? I can't wish death on nonfictional things.
Last Night of the Proms
Gardeners' Question Time
Last of the Summer Wine* - Possibly my most hated sitcom of all.
Steptoe and Son
Clangers - And not just cause it was in Doctor Who that one time... probably.
The Young Ones
Edge of Darkness - One of the best things the Beeb's ever done.
Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy
Letter from America
The Mighty Boosh
QI - I DON'T KNOW. Sometimes I really enjoy it and sometimes I hate it.
Panorama
Bagpuss
I Claudius - The single greatest achievement of the television medium. I think, anyway. If you haven't seen it, you should. A lot.
Absolutely Fabulous
John Motson
Red Dwarf
Our Friends in the North
Culture Show
Woman's Hour
Charlie and Lola
Alan Partridge - Is that wrong? I feel embarrassed to admit it, but I do.
Sherlock
News at 6 o'clock
Live Aid
Likely Lads
Michael Palin

This Life
That's Life
Life on Earth
The Good Life - Love is a bit strong, but I do like it. Paul Eddington's in it.
Captain Pugwash
Tony Hart
Til Death do us Part
Ken Bruce
News Quiz
Keeping Up Appearances
Outnumbered
Miranda
Who Do You Think You Are?
Kirsty Wark
Jeremy Paxman
Parkinson
Wogan
Tripods

The League of Gentlemen
Have I Got News for You
Hairy Bikers
Being Human - I *still* haven't seen it, alas.
In the Night Garden
You & Me (Me & You)
Monty Python
Doctor Who - WELL. Just incase you weren't aware, this is my favourite telly of all. And, frankly, I'd be happy to pay my licence fee every year just for it. Yes, even for New Who season two.
Top Gear*
Merlin
Ivor the Engine
Watchdog
Wimbledon
Springwatch
Formula 1*
Blue Peter - My Team was Yvette Fielding, Caron Keating and Mark Curry. I stopped watching some twelve-ish years later just after Konnie Huq joined.
Swap Shop - Love based entirely on clips from extras on Doctor Who DVDs. WHAT?
Five Live
Top of the Pops
Trumpton
The Archers
That Was The Week That Was
The Goodies
Songs of Praise
World at One
The Day Today
I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue
Not the Nine O'Clock News
Nationwide
Mr Men
Eastenders - Er...yeah. I don't watch it anymore, but there were definitely several years in my teens when I did.
Bottom
Gary Lineker
Radio 1
Radio 2
Ripping Yarns
Johnny Ball
Test Match Special
Bergerac
Perfect Day
Radio Active
Howard's Way - This is possibly my guiltiest telly love...guiltiest BBC telly love.
Jeremy Hardy
Final Score
(everything on) BBC4
Only Fools (and Horses)
Sky at Night
Shooting Stars
Pete(r Cooke) and Dud(ley Moore) - And not just cause they had Peter Cushing on a couple o times.
Teletubbies*
Life on Mars
Radcliffe and Maconie
Jackanory
A Bit of Fry and Laurie
Children in Need Appeal
Douglas Adams
John Peel

Based on that it almost seems like my telly licence is bloody good value for money. I'M ASTONISHED.

Though do remember that not all of the British stuff on PBS or anywhere else is made by the BBC! Not even stuff marketed by BBC Worldwide (for instance, Primeval is marketed by BBC Worldwide but the BBC has no hand in it.)

Also that about a third of what is mentioned is Radio/Started on Radio rather than TV. (The News Quiz, Gardener's Question Time, Mayo and Kermode - a cult film review programme - Letter from America, Hancock's Half Hour, Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy etc)

That's cause they're singing about BBC radio as well as telly.

Indeed, and Mitch himself is far more familiar from his spots on Radio 4's The Now Show! which would have been on my list. But I was really replying to [livejournal.com profile] airie_fairy's comment about the shows Mitch didn't mention being on PBS. Some British people who should have known better made suggestions about shows they supposed to have been on the Beeb that were, in fact, ITV shows. (The Avengers was mentioned, and Upstairs, Downstairs)
