I think I've finished. Oh god, I've finished. It's not just the words. I've finished the editing too. I've chopped and hacked and rearranged and I HATE IT LIKE A THING OF EVIL SO MUCH.

But it is done.

I'm going to have to read it again before I hand it in. I don't want to. Don't want to. Have to. HATE.

And I have to finish the bloody bibliography.

But my dissertation is FINISHED.

*collapses dead a bit*

ETA: Sleep is clearly the plan of sensible. But hah to that. I'm going to find something awful to watch. Like The King's Demons. Or...or...Paradise Towers. AHahahha. And hot chocolate.

ETA2: I am now offically allowed to be Excited About Star One. Oh my. This is good. 'Cept my brain appears to be too dead to realise the goodness. Curse you brain. Curse you. Give me endorphins.

Oh, the postman brought me a computer game and instead of uni and work I played played and played and played for about six hours. Hating self just a teeny wee bit for that. But have made it to the library and at least I had the intention of working - up until I realised how bloody cold it is in here and I'd be much better off at home. Ahem.

I still haven't managed to watch a single episode of the ice skating programme, since I never get home till its over and am not that fussed apparently. But Mr Barrowman was on This Morning, er, this morning and I was greatly amused at him switching between his Scottish accent when speaking to Lorraine and his American one otherwise, heh. Also Bonnie Langford there. Is it wrong to want to write fic about ice-skating just cause it's rather pretty? And on the telly? And have Jack/Mel in it?

Also he seemed slightly, um, ungood about the whole Being Voted Out thing. Possibly taking the competition a wee bit too seriously? It is just telly, even if everyone's wearing lethal weapons on their feet, yes.

So it was fanfic during January, a fanvid over the weekend, and now Photoshop is supplying me with procrastination-y activities. Clearly I want myself to panic and fail, yes. Just...if I put half the effort into actually doing this bloody dissertation as I did finding ways to avoid it, it might actually get done. And I know that perfectly well. Yet still can't stop the Not Working-ness. Yarg.

Okay, now I'm going to scream. Word doesn't recognise .wps files. I bloody hate Works, I do.

Why is one expected to deal with university bureaucracy when one is least able to deal with it?
carmen_lj: (free as wind)
What happened to this week? I think I must have destroyed it in a fit of fic-writing and playing KotOR and denial at having to do any work.

But it seems to be Friday, again, and our phoneline still isn't working and I haven't done this week's copy and I haven't got any food at all in the flat so today I've had a cup of coffee and half a bottle of Irn Bru to, um, eat. Mother would not be pleased.

Oh, and I had a rather bizarre dream concerning Mr Tennant and self being chased by six foot tall gay ferrets. I hate my subconscious.

But Good News! Edinburgh uni rector elections are coming up. Last time this happened, I was but a wee first year and the choice of candidates was uninspiring. Worse, our rector for the past three years has been Tam Dalyel. Who is dull as anything.

But this year, we have a truly great man standing, this year we are bloody well going to elect the best darn rector in the country, for on February the 15th, I shall be voting for: Boris Johnson! Hurrah! am quietly ignoring the fact that EUSA, and thus virtually the entire population of students that actually bothers to vote in these things is supporting Mark Ballard.

I am going to read some fic that has appeared on flist and then I am going to the office like a good and responsible person. Which I totally am. Yes.

So I'm back at university, hurrah. The fridge is empty, the flat is freezing and, best of all, the phoneline is disconnected. Woe. So I'm in the (even more freezing) Microlabs attempting to look at fannish stuff on the Internets and hoping no-one notices.

I am too cold and have too little caffeine in the bloodstream to write proper entry. So list, yes. Lists are good.

  • Christmas cards! Thank you to all who sent them for I had a pile when I got back and it was lovely and cheered me up immensely, yes.
  • People should not call Harry useless. Harry is great. Everyone should go watch Genesis of the Daleks and see how great he is in that. In the first five minutes alone he manages to save the Doctor from a landmine. Because the Dcotor is a bit of a twat who, despite knowing he is walking through a minefield doesn't notice a Whacking Great Landmine in front of him and trods on it. Harry saves him, with his Steady Hands. For Harry is a surgeon and Harry works well under pressure and Harry is great. Dude.
  • Lack of Internetness meant I watched the Battlestar Galactica mini-series. Am disturbed to find that I like it an awful lot more than when last I saw it. Though how I long for a Steadycam. Still, it is great. I am a bit in love with most of the characters right now, though suspect this may change through series. Am hating on Adama a bit and, sadly, look forward to the last episode so I can cheer. I am sorry about this. But not much.
  • The mini-series finished and I was Still Not Tired so I stuck on the first episode. I found it a bit funny and laughed in places I wasn't supposed to because the Sheer Drama was cutting off the oxygen. Or something. Anyway, suspect if the number of Long Dramatic Pauses continues at this level I will have to seek fanfic where they all magically get transported to Earth and are stuck for money and so must put on a pantomime for the Great British Public.
  • But despite the OMG Serious Drama, it is about five billion times better than the awfulness of the other BSG show. Which was awful and wrong. Said wrongness can be demonstrated by fact that I fancy New Starbuck more than Old Starbuck despite the fact that I am straight.
  • Am a bit afeared Jen is going to hate and meybe kill me for the above bulletpoint, hrrm.
  • The best thing about today is going to be the exciting shopping in Tesco's what I will do.
  • I must stop looking at jobs and things, is bad plan, makes worry, yes.
  • It is still cold.
