1) Am working back through emails to possibly there will be replies to quite old comments since have not been online much recently.

2) OMG. I've still not seen the new X-men movie. MY BITTERNESS IS VAST. But it's still not on at my "local" cinema and the next nearest one is some sixty miles away. I KNOW THAT'S NOT LOTS TO AMERICANS, but that is practically FOREVER in the UK, also it's not even in Scotland. I'M NOT GOING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR A MOVIE DAMMIT.

3) There have been some lovely posts on the flist about Camelot. This is pleasing. What is not pleasing is that there's still No News on season two. There's not going to be one, is there? WHY DOES TELLY HATE ME?

4) I accidently read all of Joe Abercrombie's books, and then there were no more and I was sad. I didn't think I'd like them all that much, but ended up a bit in love really. Mostly cause they were funny. There was a moment in Best Served Cold where I was terribly happy too, cause The Team were all doing planning and stuff and no-one was actively trying to kill anyone else and it was most yayful, then I remembered The Sort Of Book I was reading and the chances of them Bonding Into An Awesome Team were nil and chances of something terrible happening and everyone dying were considerably greater. BUT STILL. They did make me laugh.

5) I've started watching Fringe again, but really I have like no other telly to watch. Except Come Dine With Me. Which doesn't count. If anyone would like to rec me any SF/F or historical telly, that would be marvellous. New or old, I ain't fussed.

I'M NOT GOING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY FOR A MOVIE DAMMIT.

I almost went to another state to watch a movie. About 60 miles away, in fact. But I was just on this side of the state border.

It will show up at your local cinema! And you will rejoice in it! Really!

I don't think it's my sort of telly, but I haven't actually ever seen an ep. Shall try and check it out.

I am not particularly subtle.

How do you feel about Primeval?

I WAS GOING TO SUGGEST THIS. This series has been particularly stellar!

I was dismayed initially when the Scottish dude and the pretteh dood who is pretending to be Scottish on CHAOS left, but then there was Even More Becker. And I am so okay with that.

Haha, well tbh I've only ever watched Primeval for the ladies, although this season is giving me ALL THE FEELINGS for Team ARC.

I may be in the process of creating plastic!Jess and plastic!Becker, so they can have plastic adventures. It's a thing I do.

I kind of hated the first series, but the prospect of Siddig El Fadil does make it Massively Moar Appealing. May give another shot.

What's interesting about the series is that they actually rebooted it after s1, and so it is a very different series from s2 onwards.

Also... there are dinosaurs.

Yeah, I did like the prospect of dinosaurs, though I seem to recall being a MITE JUDGEY at the characters. Ahem.

I drove four hours to see a movie. We went from Savannah, Georgia to Gainesville, Florida to see Cowboy Bebop in a movie theater.

Well, I say *I* drove where it was more like my friend at the time drove and I sat in the back.

You could check out Mildred Pierce (1930s) which I haven't seen but is directed by Todd Haynes. It's on Sky Atlantic.

Lies, Come Dine with me totally counts, maybe more as evidence for who should be up against the wall come the revolution than telly, but it still counts. Though I certainly I couldn't count the number of times I've shouted at the screen.

Maybe you could find a fan friend to visit for a day or a weekend or something who would like to do fannish things and also go see the movie with you. And then it wouldn't be going to another country for a movie, it would be going to another country to visit a friend. (I once took a bus to another state to see a TV episode, but it was the season finale and a bunch of people were getting together at this one person's place so it was like a mini-con.)

It's truly bizarre that you would have to travel to another country just to see a movie!?!

Don't they like the X-Men in Scotland???

It's less not liking the Xmen and more a distinct lack of cinemas in the south-west. Tis not the most populated of areas.

FYI: Sixty miles may not be "lots" to Americans, but we still think it's too far to see a movie. (Except maybe IMAX. *g*)

I often have to go to another county for a film, but never another country!

Can't rec you any telly but as you liked Joe Abercrombie, why not try Scott Lynch. I love his books like nobodies business.

I've read the first one of Lynch's, inevitably shall get the second, very much enjoyed.
